Privacy Policy
Last updated: November 5, 2026
Tolgy is designed for maximum privacy. The app is operated for parents; children use it only with a parent's consent and under a parent's supervision.
What we collect
We do not have user accounts, and we do not collect names, email addresses, birthdates, contacts, photos, or location. The app contains no advertising, no third-party analytics and no tracking.
To understand which characters, age ranges and languages are used, our server keeps anonymous daily counters: how many conversations were started per character, age range, language, speaker voice and country (the country is derived coarsely from the network connection). These counters contain no identifiers, no IP address, no audio and no text, and cannot be linked to a person or a device.
Voice conversations and our third-party AI provider
When your child talks with Tolgy, the microphone audio is streamed live to Microsoft (Azure), a third-party artificial-intelligence provider that runs the AI model, which generates the companion's spoken replies. Audio is shared only while a conversation is active and only to run that conversation. A parent gives permission for this during setup and can withdraw it at any time in the app (Parent settings → Withdraw consent), by turning off microphone access in iOS Settings, or by deleting the app.
Under Microsoft's Azure OpenAI data-privacy terms, data sent to the service is not made available to other AI model providers and is not used to train the models. Microsoft may process the data in other countries and may temporarily keep it to detect abuse and keep the service safe; content flagged by its safety filters may be reviewed by Microsoft staff. How long Microsoft keeps live voice data is set by Microsoft's own terms, not by us. We ourselves never record, store, listen to or review conversations, and no conversation history is kept in the app.
Installation identifier
The app creates a random installation identifier on your device. It contains no personal information and is not linked to your identity. It is sent with each conversation request to our server solely to detect and limit abuse of the service, and it is not shared with the AI provider or anyone else. It is kept in the device's secure storage (Keychain), which means it can remain on the device if the app is deleted and installed again; the counter of free minutes is stored the same way, so reinstalling does not reset it. It is never used for advertising, tracking or profiling.
What we store
- On our servers: no conversation data. Our server only relays the one-time connection setup that starts each voice session; conversation audio flows directly between the app and Microsoft. Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) processes technical request data such as IP addresses briefly to deliver and secure the service.
- Temporarily in the app's memory only: the last few things the voice friend said, so a conversation can continue after a short pause or a reconnect. They are never written to storage, never sent to our servers, and are discarded when settings change, consent is withdrawn or the app is closed. While a conversation is active they are passed back to the AI provider described above.
- On your device: your chosen age range, language, character and voice, your consent confirmation, usage counters for free and monthly minutes, and the installation identifier.
Children's privacy
Tolgy is used by children only after a parent or guardian confirms consent inside the app and agrees to supervise use. The AI companion is instructed never to ask for personal details such as full names, addresses or school names. Because we keep no recordings or transcripts, anything a child says is not retained by us; Microsoft's handling is described above. Parents can contact us at any time with questions or requests.
Subscriptions
Payments are processed entirely by Apple through your App Store account. We never see your payment details.
Your choices
- Withdraw consent at any time in the app: Parent settings → Withdraw consent. Conversations stop immediately and nothing is sent until setup and consent are completed again.
- You can revoke microphone access at any time in iOS Settings.
- Report a companion response that worried you: Parent settings → Report a response.
- Deleting the app removes all settings stored on the device.
- Questions or requests: canberksezer@gmail.com
Security incidents
We use industry-standard protections and keep almost no personal data. We have no accounts or contact details for users, so if we ever learn of a security incident that affects personal data, we will announce it on this page and in the app, and notify the authorities and affected people as the law requires.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update this page and the date above. Material changes will be shown in the app.
